Rain Gear

Thanks Meyou + Grandpa for the awesome rain gear!! The girls were SO excited to get the ladybug umbrellas, coats and boots in the mail....and during a rainy week too. Although once we got all dressed up to head outside, Ava was rather disappointed that it was not raining that precise moment.

See the face....Mother Nature was not cooperating.

What's a Cat Gotta Do....

to get some love around here?
Let the toddlers carry him around. Cosmo is a pretty good sport, not to mention a great cat, for allowing this! Too bad I just found out I'm allergic to cats. Better luck for the girls....and Cos.

Girly Hair

Hee, hee....Liv may not have much hair yet, but that's not going to stop me from playing with what's there. She likes her little spikey ponytails too!

Six Flags Opening

Yea!...the park finally opened. No, it's not terribly educational, but it's a whole lotta fun! Since Livi is bigger this year she is starting to enjoy the thrill of the rides more too, and that is so cute to watch. They get so excited with the anticipation of waiting in line. And thank goodness for nice weather so early in the year here, I don't think we could wait much longer to have fun in the sun.

I felt like the Jolly Green Giant on this ride....and I look like it too surrounded by the kids.

It's so funny that Ava LOVES to see the characters, and runs up to them. Must be when she gets older that she will groan and roll her eyes at me when I ask to take her picture. So for now I love the photo opportunities:

Livi was so funny with the characters...she follows Ava, but as you can see we're not so sure she really wanted to hug on Tweetie. She didn't seem scared, but just kind of nuzzled into him/her. All of my pictures with Tweetie and Livi look like this....little weirdo.

Dancing Queen

I can't edit the movies from my camera, but here is a bit of Livi dancing. I could never get her to do it again on film. She's such a little character; quiet most of the time then busts out with these funny little acts.

Ava + The Boys

Daddy took Ava to play golf with him and his dad a couple of weeks ago. He knew they'd make it only for 9 holes, if that, but he figured she was ready. He took her clubs and some toys and snacks; she did really well. It held her interest for 7 of the 9 holes...not bad for her first time. She about cried the next time he tried to play without her. It was really special for Ava, and thanks, Jeff, for taking a couple of pictures.

Jerry Jeff Johnston, AKA Ava

*This is dedicated to you, Aunt Lisa! Here's to your request for Munchkin Movies.

Daddy taught Ava this whole song, by Jerry Jeff Walker, although in the movie she's only giving it half effort. She actually can sing the whole song in harmony, word for word. What a Daddy's Girl!

Tee Time

A couple of weekends ago we took the girls, with Granny + Papa, to the Golf Expo here in town. The best part was that all the kids got a free club cut down to their size. Needless to say the girls were pretty excited. Livi's was all grip right down to the head, but she can hit with it. Daddy was pretty excited too! And there was a mini green area for the kids to practice putting.

Look Who's Using the Potty!

She's actually wee wee'd in it twice!...without me prompting her!! I am not ready for potty-training, but if the last couple weeks are any indication of how it will go...piece of cake. Yea Livi!

The Cowgirl Way

It was "Western Week" at Ava's school last week. I said, "Ava! You can wear your cowboy boots!" To which she replied, "No Mom! I don't have cowboy boots, I wear cowgirl boots!" How silly of me.

Mardi Gras

Ava celebrated Mardi Gras at school a couple of weeks ago. They made their own masks and King's cake. She was so excited to show us. Daddy had some free time, so he went to school with the other parents to witness the parade and take pictures. The little kids paraded around and said, "throw me somethin', mister!" We love the preschool; Ava loves her teachers and classmates and they adore her....all of them.

Then later at home Ava shared her beads with Livi. Thanks big sis!

Twisted Sisters

This was Ava's idea...and little sis just follows along. For the most part they play really cute together.

Our Special Treat

The special event....a trip to the American Girl store and cafe. It was such a treat! Thanks Me-you!! My little dolls got some new goodies, and got to eat lunch with their dolls. And of course I loved all the pink and fluff!

Then we walked around the Galleria; generally I stay away from this mall because it has all the fancy stores, but it was fun to see. We stopped by the play area, but it was out of control busy! So the girls played on the light blocks instead.
