Vacation Photos

Ok, since I'm living with Mom + Dad I don't have all of my photo/video equipment set up to make a great slide show of vacation photos like I would like to, so this will have to do...

Mommy, Where you are!!!!!

Where have we been?? In the country, visiting Granny + Papa, and Daddy too! Sorry, no pictures or updates with a dial-up connection, I do not have the patience. But I do have some great pictures to share when we get back to Indiana and our DSL. A quick rundown of our recent activities:

-Ava's birthday party (a second one given by Granny + Papa)
-Eating good tex-mex food, Ava especially likes guacamole
-Gainsville, TX Zoo
-Outlet shopping
-Visiting Daddy at work in Dallas
-Froggies Toy Store....had to carry Ava out kicking + screaming, she even dreamt about it
-Ava's first real hair cut
-Visiting with the cows that live next door to Granny + Papa
-And lots of visiting with family + friends

We're pooped after that! So we're laying low today and tomorrow, before another party this weekend with Daddy's coworkers. Pictures to come of vacation after this weekend! Oh, someone's also cutting another tooth; just in time for the trip home, great.

Happy 4th of July!

We had a small fireworks display in the drive way tonight, and it was a big hit! It was kind of a bummer because now that we're in the Eastern time zone it stays light out until about 10 pm, but Ava didn't seem to mind. She even held her first sparkler...then got burned by it. After that she watched the rest at a safe distance with Grandma/Mommy + Livi. Oh, I also made Ava's dress, just a simple pattern that I could make during nap time. Not my greatest work, but Ava seemed pleased and that made me so happy. Still working on Livi's outfit....

Ava went to her first Mother's Day Out this morning....she loved it! They said she was a "delightful" little girl, but of course. I'm so relieved that she enjoyed it, and I was actually able to work a little bit. She was upset when it was time to go home. She'll probably go on a regular basis for the rest of the summer, it's the only time she really gets to play with other little kids her age.

The Petting Zoo....Ewww, please don't touch that!

The local zoo here had their grand opening yesterday after being closed for some renovations. I think it was a little premature since there were only some monkey/lemur things and a petting zoo with a couple of miniature horses, goats, rabbits, hens and a pig. But there's not much to do in a small town so my mother and I ventured out with the girls. Clearly I did not, or could not, pack enough hand sanitizer. Ewwww. However, I can not deny my child the simple pleasures of childhood, I realize that, so I actually let her pet a rabbit and walk in with the goats & ponies/horses. Ava was thrilled, of course. She's funny, she liked the animals, but wasn't so sure about touching the goats...lucky for me. Also she got to "milk" a fake cow; I think she liked that. See the pics:

Oh yeah, they also had some little kiddie rides next to the zoo. Ava rode in a boat, however got in trouble with Mommy after I caught her leaning off the back to touch the water. I deemed none of the other rides safe after that, except for the train which Mommy could ride too. Ummm, sorry Ava, I don't think we'll be back to this zoo any time soon.
