Me

I know, I know...it's been a while. What can I say I'm a working-stay-at-home-mom now, or a full-time part-time working mom...not much time for blogging. Anyway, duty calls...I got memed. Angela tagged me (see her definition here); love the woman, can't get enough of her and those kiddies, but unfortunately I rarely get to see them with my new schedule, and for that and others I don't see regularly, I'm truly sorry. MUST get together soon!

Back to the meme; here are the rules:

(1) Link to the person that tagged you.
(2) Post the rules on your blog.
(3) Share six non-important things/habits/quirks about yourself.
(4) Tag six random people by linking to their blogs. **Taking the liberty to revise the # to 3.
(5) Let them know they're tagged by leaving a comment.

#1) I'm tone deaf. No, really. In junior high school the choir teacher actually asked me to lip sync during performances. And that was even AFTER I took private lessons from her! Anyway, my husband lets me sing in his ear and says it's beautiful; my girls like it too!

#2) I'm freakishly good with math. No, not multiplying big numbers in my head, but tough stuff like calculus. I took "differential equations" a few years ago at OSU and aced the class. It just made sense one day...freaked me out too.

#3) Even though I am in a creative career I can not accessorize myself to save my life! I look to my sisters for guidance, inspiration, etc. I wonder if they notice at work that I wear the same necklace almost every other day...my black one always seems like a safe choice.

#4) I told my mother that I never wanted to be an interior designer, that I thought it was a silly, frivolous job. I would be an architect, at least, like my dad and make lives better by designing structures verses decorating. Oh now naive.... I love my career, and currently I am making lives better designing a cancer center.

#5) I used to be a D in college...now a B! Maybe non-important fact, but very devastating to me. (I know TMI, but I can't help it!)

#6) I could sustain on cheeseburgers alone. My all-time favorite food, and maybe a perfect meal with lettuce, tomato + condiments. I love them so much my parents made me a cheeseburger Halloween costume made of foam-rubber. There was a hole in the middle where I stepped in and wore it around me. Since then it was been to numerous Jimmy Buffet concerts by my family, and always a big hit!

Ok, I'm tagging my sister, Lisa, Courtney, and Jenn. You're it!

Seeing Red

Grandma "Me-you" came to visit on Wednesday, and of course brought some goodies for the girls for Valentine's Day. Ava loved the view finder and her new red boots...which will go perfectly with her umbrella!

My Little Umbrella Girl

Ava's favorite Valentine gift from Granny + Papa is her umbrella. She's so proud of it; she took it to the park, takes it in the bath, and finally got to use it in the rain this weekend. Doesn't she look like the Morton Salt girl?

Grandparents Galore!

Granny + Papa came to visit last weekend, to play with the girls of course, but also to celebrate Daddy's birthday. And the weather was just perfect!..so we also took a trip to the park. Everyone had fun! Livi laughed out loud on the swing, and Ava went up the BIG slide several times.

Silence = Trouble

Lesson #291: When all is quiet with babies/toddlers start checking on them a little closer...one, or both, may be busy getting into trouble...such as getting the cap off your pen + proceeding to suck on the ink tip.

Mess-around Session #348

Congratulations....

to Melanie, Denny + Kiley on the new addition to their family.... Kaiser Cole.

Silver Spoon

Our baby no longer wants to eat what babies eat; she's been "demanding" to eat like the rest of the family. These pictures are actually a few weeks old, but sometime around then Livi was getting harder to feed her #2 baby food...she would smack her little hands on the table until we would give her peas, or something else off our plate. Her doctor actually said to start feeding her table food at her 9 mos. checkup, but I was still hesitant; I said, "oh, ok, like #3 foods now?" He said, "No, I think #3 foods are a marketing gimic, just grind up your food."

Wow! Already! I had Ava eating baby food until she was 1 year...no wonder she was so skinny about that time, I was probably holding her back. Anyway, so I got out the food processor and fed Livi her first family meal...filet mignon. Yep, she's surely spoiled now. So funny, she LOVED it, and continues to love all grown-up food we give her. Ava was never really picky, only with some things now, but Livi is definitely not picky...she's like a little garbage disposal. So far she's tried, and likes:

steak
mashed potatoes
peas
corn
refried beans
cheese (cheddar & smoked)
toast
yogurt
blueberries
raspberries
brisket
chicken

On one hand dinner is easier now that we all eat the same thing, on the other hand I have to make sure what we eat is appropriate for 10 month olds to 30+ yr. olds...hmmm.

Little Princess Elton

Sorry about the rotated image....if only I could figure out how to correct it, or learn to stop turning the camera while filming. If you know how to edit this PLEASE let me know, I've been trying to figure it out for a while now.

Playing Nice

For the most part the girls play nicely together; it's fun to watch them interact with each other now and make each other laugh. I hope they will be great play buddies like my sister, Lisa, and I were when we were little!

Cookie Chef

Ava (with Granny's help) made some yummy Valentine's cookies last weekend. Needless to say they did not last long...
