What we've been so busy with....

Besides a big deadline at work (main reason for lack of posts), I finally devoted the time necessary to help "encourage" Ava to start using the potty full time...Yippee! This picture was taken a couple of weeks ago, and now I can safely say she is diaper free. We started one weekend about 2 weeks ago switching to panties and then phased out the diapers first at nap times, then at bedtime. There's an occasional accident when she's too busy playing to stop and pee, or once the first night, but not many other times. I can't begin to explain how proud Jeff + I are, what an accomplishment!....for all of us! Oh, and good thing I have extra potty chairs, because little sis is usually right there in the middle of everything, wanting to do whatever big sis does.

Easter Sunday

More pictures from our Easter. First thing out of Ava's mouth when she woke up, "Did the Easter Bunny come?" Yes, he did; he even left footprints up the front walk....thanks to Daddy + his home-made "template". The EB was good to the girls, thanks to Granny + Papa and Me-you + Grandpa too! We dyed a few eggs, went on an egg-hunt and even made some cookie dough...although actually finishing the cookies proved to be too much for me. Maybe this week sometime. We had a great time with the girls, but actually glad to get back to our weekly routine...Easter festivities about wore Daddy + Mommy out!

Happy Easter!

More to come, from Easter and last week. Been busy...real busy.

Season of Fun

We want to say a big "Thank You" to Jeff's parents for the season tickets to Six Flags! We took the girls last weekend and we had SO much fun!! We're going to have lots of fun this year with frequent trips to the park. Ava had a blast, as you can see in the pictures. And if you ask her about Six Flags you can see her excitement as her voice gets real high and she gets giggly talking about the roller coaster, the sombrero hat, the log ride and the animals (cartoon characters). I even took Livi on a ride...she didn't squeal in delight, but she didn't cry either; I think we have a couple of thrill-seekers on our hands. Thanks again, Granny + Papa!!!

Spring Show

When Ava + I were invited to Lyndsee (my cousin's daughter)'s spring show for her high school's dance team, I thought, "sure, the drill team doing some dance numbers in the gym...sounds fun!" Ha!! I guess I momentarily forgot we're in Texas now....it was so cool, and so much more a bigger deal than I expected. I guess I might describe it to non-Texans as the cheerleading competitions you see on TV, but with the dance team vs. cheerleaders. And Lyndsee...just look at the picture above, A-W-E-S-O-M-E!!! I believe she is a sophomore now, but she + the other girls looked so professional; I was really impressed. And Ava?... definitely sold her on the dance team. She could hardly sit still in her seat; she wiggled, jiggled, laughed, clapped and even jumped out of her seat to dance. Thanks Lyndsee, Bari Lynne, Tim, Aunt Lynne Dee + Paul for the fun evening; it was good to see you all too!
