Happy Halloween

Nanny Cam: Halloween Party in the Park

So here is a glimpse into the girls' day while Jeff + I are working; they have a whole other social life with their nanny, Gracie. We couldn't be happier with her and how she takes care of the girls, and loves them! I asked her to take pictures during the day, when it's convenient, so I can catch up on what they do and not miss out on everything. Actually I have lots of pictures from the "nanny cam" as I like to call it, but haven't figured out a good way to post them yet.

Anyway, today a group of kids and their parents/nannies from the neighborhood got together and had a party. Too cute! They had a great time; they had lunch, hit a pinata and PLAYED hard!

Halloween Party at School

Ava's school had a Halloween Party this week; the kids got to wear their costumes to school. The parents were invited to stay for a little parade around the offices. I was SO excited to be there!!!....what a great way to start the day. Oh, BTW, the wings had to stay at home, no props.

Hindering Houdini

Yep, this is what it has come to....duct taping Livi's diaper before bedtime! I've been putting her in long zip-up jammies thinking it would deter her from pulling her pants down + removing the diaper. NOT! I awoke to her crying the other night; upon entering her room + seeing her standing in the crib nothing appeared to be out of the norm. But upon further inspection, and feeling wetness when I picked her up, I noticed the diaper sitting in the crib. Her jammies were on though!!!!! She managed to take them off, remove the diaper, and I'm guessing she then pulled jammies back on (AND ZIPPED!) and went back to sleep sans panties. I guess she woke up after a wee wee with no diaper. AHHHHH!!!!

Spaghetti Dinner

This week we went to the annual Spaghetti Dinner the boy scouts put on; a LOT of people went last year so I was anxious to see what I was missing. It was good, and fun! It was at the church where Ava attends preschool, so she saw lots of her friends from school. It was so cute!! The girls (well mostly Livi) & spaghetti were a mess, but worth it. After dinner the kids in Ava's school (3 & 4 year olds) went to the playground with their dads to carve pumpkins.

Livi and I tagged along for a bit, but left before it ended. Livi was NOT happy to leave; and Ava + Daddy's pumpkin looked great!...pics tomorrow night.

Halloween Fair

Last weekend we went to a local Halloween fair. It was kind of a bust, but the girls enjoyed it, the bounce house was a hit at least.

Couple of Characters

Here's the caricature we got at the fair. I'm so happy with it, I think we'll make it a tradition! I'm going to get it framed and hang it in the girls' room.

State Fair

Last week Granny + Papa went to the fair with the girls and me. Ava has been talking about it all year, she's looked forward to going after her first time last year. We had a GREAT time!! I even got a caricature drawing of the girls (first pic), and I will post that later. Livi wanted to enjoy everything like her sis, but after the first car ride she wasn't so sure; she did enjoy the cotton candy though.

The dog show:
Livi wasn't too impressed with the dogs, the show just didn't move fast enough for her. So she kept busy climbing bleachers while Ava watched intently with Granny + Papa.

Livi rode the cars with Ava, but wasn't too happy by the end; she was ready to get off. Ava did the motorcycle, and every other ride though:

Livi was happy to watch big sis from the sidelines:
Ava swung the hammer for a prize; she was so proud:
