Traveling

To Grandma's house we go!....yep, we've been traveling, to both Grandmas' houses actually. Will try to post soon. Having a bit of a time trying to keep routines while traveling. Oh, and here's a big surprise, we got sick again...while on the road. Yuck. We seem to be getting better though. Will return home this weekend.

Cry-ling

So I was in the bathroom with Ava helping her brush her teeth this morning (I left Livi in their bedroom on the rug playing with toys) when Livi totally crawled out to the hall to find us! Yes, the post title is "cry-ling", not "crawling", because unfortunately the crawling is usually done with a good loud cry. Livi hasn't learned to crawl out of curiousness, but necessity...she NEEDS to get to Mommy. I would love to video it, but it's just not the prettiest with all the yelling. Of course now and then she does crawl peacefully when I'm on the floor with her, but as soon as I bring out the camera my little camera hogs become too distracted. Will keep trying.

Now What....

Wow, Ava and Livi just took a two hour nap...unheard of in our family! I got 4 posts done at once...now what?? I actually reached the end of the internet! It's terribly lonely now, maybe I should wake them up. Just kidding! Guess I'll do the dishes...bummer.

Little Laughs

I just can't get enough of this giggle!!

Diaper Bag Dilema

I'm contemplating a new diaper bag, but I'm having lots of trouble making a decision. My first one is shot...how do I destroy bags?? Anyway, I loved it dearly; not just how "pretty" is was, but also the dozens of pockets, changing pad, etc. So here are the two I'm looking at, maybe for Christmas. Both are about equal as far as accessories, and price. Maybe the top one is too "Springtime" though?? But I am girly. Anyone out there with an opinion, please give it to me!

Toddler Talk

Historically Ava has been right on the mark for milestones babies/kids hit such as cooing, smiling, motor skills (minus crawling), talking, etc....but something tells me the talking has far surpassed what is considered normal for this age. She was using more words at a young age at our first playgroup, yet oddly enough, she was not as physical as the other babies. Well I guess what she did lack in physical skills she has made up for mentally. I guess it's the use of whole sentences that really have me floored. We are still in the fog after the storm of sickness around here, so no pictures right yet, but here are some funny conversations between Ava + myself, and Ava + Ava:

(While walking up our driveway one evening, hand-in-hand) Ava: "Mommy, this driveway is really steep." ...What??? where did she learn "steep"?

(While playing in the front yard) Ava: "Come here, Mommy; vamonos!"

(At the playground) Mommy: "Ava, do you want me to help you get on the frog?" Ava: "Actually Mom it's a turtle." Did she just say Actually??

(Getting run over at the playground by a hyper little guy) Ava: "Hey boy, that's NOT nice!! That's NOT nice!!!"

(In the bathtub, while both hands holding onto one toy) Ava: No, it's mine!! Mine! You have to take turns, 'member. Yeah, I 'member. We have to share." (then little hands take turns playing with bath toy).

(During book time before bed) Ava: "We have to read Dora. The Spanish word guide."

(Spotting little sis touch something, anything, of hers) Ava: "No, NO Livi! You can't have that!" Mommy: "Ava, stop that; you need to share with your little sister." Ava: "Here Livi (giving her another toy) you can play with this."

So hilarious! Since we are recovering from our illnesses Ava and Livi have been such little pleasures! There are so many more funny things Ava says, but I usually forget them by the time I get to the computer. And Livi, she's practically crawling!! Will try to get video; she gets up on hands + knees, no problem, then rocks, during the forward rock she face-plants which puts her a little ahead of where she started...and then does it all again. I call it the "inchworm". That's all for now; going to enjoy a bit more of "double nap time" while I can!!

I Got Candy, Mommy + Daddy!!!

We ended the night with some trick-or-treating in our neighborhood. Again, lots of fun! It was a little warm so Ava didn't wear her hood much, but we would put in on right after ringing door bells. She was a big hit, and of course she loved that. I think we maybe went to 7 houses, and that was plenty. She was so excited to get candy, she wanted to take it right home.

Thank you, Cindy + Ronnie, for the adorable bags; also a BIG hit with the girls.

Ava shows her loot, and even offers Mommy a "sucker lollipop". Thanks sweetie!
Looking forward to next year already!! Oh, by the way, no I didn't make both outfits. My mother helped me make the lion last year, but I bought the monkey for Ava's first Halloween. Thanks for the previous comments!

Trick-or-Treat, Daddy!

We started the festivities at Daddy's office. The girls were so excited, well Ava was anyway. She couldn't wait to tell Daddy "trick or treat" for some candy. Of course Daddy was prepared, as were some of his colleagues. Ava had a blast! And she loved to tell everyone what she was, complete with a "roar" for effect. Thanks for letting us interrupt you, Daddy.
