Daily Log

Just in case you were wondering...I thought I'd share one of my little organization/communication tools for our household, the "daily log". Wow, I didn't realize how much organization was required just to keep track of my little people once I returned to work. I was worried how'd I know what they did all day, what did they eat, when did they poop, how big was it...not that this is what I constantly wonder about with my free time, but things I was used to knowing when I was home. Things I had to know to prepare/adjust for the rest of the day. Then it hit me...make a spreadsheet, of sorts. So, a glimpse into my organization skills (and freakish computer skills). Oh, and I must give credit to Melanie too, my former project manager in her previous life, for teaching me Excel and all of its glory. You should see my timesheet/pay stubs for our nanny.

Joy Riding!

Yeah!!!...Daddy finally got the back seat in the Jeep fixed to hold the carseats! Ava was SO excited to finally get to ride instead of just playing parked in the driveway. Lots more joy-riding in the Jeep to come!

Poor little Liv is working on some first year molars...I was just trying to calm her.

Dog Days of Summer

Livi actually enjoys the Splash Parks more than Ava lately, but it's still generally a good time for all! And we're so lucky there is one so close! Our new favorite ritual for late Sunday mornings....

New 'Do

A couple of weeks ago I finally took Ava for a haircut; she'd had one before from a family friend, but this was the first one in 3 years I actually paid for. It's not that it was totally necessary, we were also looking for something fun to do since she was too sick to go to gymnastics that weekend. I had been trimming her bangs every so often, but no telling how uneven they really were! Anyway, Ava was a perfect angel; she sat real still and had a great time getting a big-girl haircut. Next time we may have to find something a little girlier though...the cars were fun and all, but she was much more into the princess dolls sitting behind her on display.
Little sis enjoyed herself too...she kept busy with the train table.
The "before" picture of my "ragga-muffin" that prompted the haircut:

Page Layout Mess!

What have I done to my page layout?...does anyone else notice that all my links are at the bottom, not the side!! WTF! Can anyone help?

Traveling Band

Thanks Granny for the drum and tambourine (not pictured) for the girls; lots of beautiful music in our house.

Our Little Gymnast

Ok, Lis, as requested, here are some clips of Ava at gymnastics this weekend; she's the cutie in black with french braids. And yes, normally I do narrate, however at this class all the parents have to sit behind the glass and it's kind of quiet, so I didn't jabber too much.

T

for Trouble....
We're having to discipline Livi a little more lately. It's one thing to grab something of your sister's and taunt her by running away with it, but quite another when you taunt your mother, particularly by climbing onto the kitchen table.

Gymnastics

Ava started gymnastics this weekend! Sorry for the horrible pictures, the parents had to stay behind the glass...Oh, Ava's in the blue, polka-dot short-shorts.

Little sis kept us entertained on the spectator-side of the glass. Silly girl!

Happy 4th of July Weekend!

Among other things this weekend, we went to a local neighborhood parade. So cute, and so fun! The girls had a great time; they saw funny people, cars, lots of people on bikes and got candy + a flag too.

By the end of the parade Livi's got the waving down.
